However, Demon's Souls is clearly an older game of its era. Playing the original version of the game has its benefits, as fans who love FromSoftware games can see the origin of all the ideas that made future games so great. Extremely difficult enemies, intricate lore, and the loss of progress upon death are core parts of Demon's Souls' gameplay. Many of the features and characteristics that make up the famous "Souls formula" started with Demon's Souls. Though it is likely the least popular in the series, the PS3 exclusive was the spiritual predecessor to all of FromSoftware's Soulslike games. The developer's biggest hits, such as Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring, all originated from Demon's Souls. Overall however it was overall a solid game.Demon's Souls, which was first released by FromSoftware on the PS3 in 2009, set the tone for many of FromSoftware's future games. Not sure if it's the modern graphics or the redesign but this also takes away some of the charm. On the other side of things some places have lost the atmosphere they once had. As a result I can't really memorise the music in this game. The original had such good variety in its music and some of the boss soundtracks are totally inferior in the remake. The soundtrack whilst impressive as a score is not very memorable or fitting since all the tracks are mostly orchestral. My only issue with the remake is the fact it has lost some of its charm it once had.

The combat has only improved with better actions and more fluid combat and this makes it more enjoyable to play than the original which has some outdated mechanics.
